The Los Angeles Clippers acquired Paul George and Kawhi Leonard.

Yes, the Clippers, now have two of the biggest stars in the NBA on their roster as they now set to battle the Lakers for supremacy in Los Angeles.

The Clippers signed Leonard to a 4-year, $141million contract, while the Clippers pulled off a blockbuster trade to acquire Paul George.

The Oklahoma City Thunder are now reeling from a trade that sees George demand a trade out of town and leaving Russell Westbrook, again, essentially by himself.

Apparently, the Thunder nearly sent Paul George and Russell Westbrook to the Toronto Raptors.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Raptors had a chance to acquire Paul George and Russell Westbrook in exchange for Pascal Siakam.

Apparently, Raptors President Masai Ujiri and GM Bobby Webster were unwilling to take on Westbrook’s contract that has 4-years and $171 million left on the deal.

Additionally the Raptors were unwilling to give up Siakam as part of the deal and according to Woj was a reason the Raptors didn’t deal.

Regardless, the Thunder and GM Sam Presti were able to leverage the Clippers desperation to acquire George into a massive haul that included several unprotected first round picks.

The trade is still sending shock waves throughout the NBA and will continue to reverberate as details of the deal continue to be revealed.
