Former Utah Jazz head coach Jerry Sloan has passed away at the age of 78.

The Jazz released a statement on Friday morning announcing that Sloan had passed due to complications from Parkinson’s disease and Lewy body dementia.

Sloan led the Jazz to two NBA Finals appearances during his 23 years as coach and won 1,223 games with the team and is member of the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame.
